The Bill seeks to amend the Firearms Act to increase the penalties for certain offences involving a firearm or any prohibited weapon, as defined by the Act, by an average of fifty percent. This Bill as introduced requires a three fifths majority in order to be passed. The resulting Act will come into effect via Proclamation.
