Dr. James Armstrong first entered Parliament as an Independent Senator, at the commencement of the 10th Republican Parliament.

Dr. Armstrong is a development planner. He possesses a first degree in Environmental Design, a Masters degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Columbia University and a Ph.D in Developmental Planning from the University of Nairobi.
