This Bill seeks to amend the Copyright Act, 1997 (Act No. 8 of 1997) to facilitate Trinidad and Tobago’s accession to the World Intellectual Property Organization Copyright Treaty (WCT) and to the World Intellectual Property Organization Performances and Phonograms Treaty (WPPT)
Senate amendments caused the Bill to require a special (three-fifths majority) in both Houses in order to be passed. The Bill received the requisite majority in both Houses.
