The Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) Bill, 2006

An Act to repeal and replace the Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) Identification Act, 2000

This Bill seeks to repeal the Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) Identification Act, 2000 and replace it with a new Act which would be used for forensic purposes only. The Bill also seeks to classify tissue and body samples into two categories: intimate and non-intimate, and to distinguish the procedure by which each type of sample is obtained.
