This Bill seeks to repeal the Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) Identification Act, 2000 and replace it with a new Act which would be used for forensic purposes only. The Bill also seeks to classify tissue and body samples into two categories: intimate and non-intimate, and to distinguish the procedure by which each type of sample is obtained.
- The Bill was referred to a Joint Select Committee of Parliament.
