Mr. Manohar Ramsaran first entered Parliament in 1995 as the elected Member for Chaguanas. He would serve as a Minister of Government under the UNC administration in the 5th and 6th Republican Parliaments. From 2001 to 2007, Mr. Ramsaran served as an Opposition Member of Parliament, first as a Member of the United National Congress and then as a Member of the Congress of the People. Mr. Ramsaran contested the newly created Chaguanas West constituency in 2007, but was defeated by Mr. Jack Warner.
