Mr. Esmond Forde first entered Parliament as the successful candidate for Tunapuna following the General Election of September 7, 2015.
Mr Forde is Tunapuna-born and bred, having attended Tunapuna Anglican School and subsequently Hillview College and St. Augustine Secondary School. He later earned Certificates in Mass Media and Communications and Photography from the U.W.I. School of Continuing Studies and a Certificate in Marketing and Public Relations from the L.C.C.I.
Mr. Forde’s working career began in 1983 with the National Insurance Board where he held several positions, including that of Public Relations Officer – Education and Publicity, until 1994. From 1995 he held a number of management positions at the Neal and Massy Group attached to Automotive Components Limited, until his elevation to Manager of the Services Division. A position he held for seven (7) years until 2007. From 2007 to 2013, Mr. Forde held management positions at other business enterprises in Trinidad.
In April of 2013, Mr. Forde resigned his position as Export Sales Executive at Lensyl Products Limited, a post he held for three (3) years. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago and the Eastern Credit Union where he also served as chairman of the Credit Committee.
Mr. Forde previously served as Chairman of the Men’s Ministry of the Reformation Life Centre Full Gospel Church for eight (8) years and serves on the executive of the Tunapuna Evangelical Association of Ministers in his hometown of Tunapuna.
Mr. Forde previously served for five (5) years as a local government Councillor and as Vice-Chairman of the Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation for two (2) years.�
