Leave of absence was granted to Mr. Rushton Paray, MP for Mayaro, from Sittings of the House during the period November 9-24, 2018. Leave was also granted to Hon. Randall Mitchell, MP for San Fernando East, Mrs. Glenda Jennings-Smith, MP for Toco / Sangre Grande and Mr. Prakash Ramadhar, MP for St. Augustine from today’s Sitting.

Mr. Rodney Charles, MP, made a request for leave namely relatively open borders throughout Trinidad and Tobago especially along the Southwest Peninsula which allows for the unregulated, weekly inflows of asylum seekers. The Deputy Speaker was not satisfied that this matter qualified under Standing Order 17.
Mrs. Christine Newallo-Hosein, MP, also made a request for leave namely the increase of violence against mothers and daughters in our nation. The Deputy Speaker was not satisfied that this matter qualified under Standing Order 17.
The Miscellaneous Provisions (Heritage Petroleum Paria Fuel Trading and Guaracara Refining Vesting) Bill, 2018 was introduced in the name of the Minister of Finance who moved that the next Stage of the Bill be taken on Wednesday November 14, 2018. The Administration of Justice (Indictable Proceedings) (Amendment) Bill, 2018 was introduced in the name of the Attorney General.
Hon. Fitzgerald Hinds, MP, moved the motion to adopt the Fifth Report of the Joint Select Committee on National Security on the Final Report of the Police Manpower Audit Committee. Debate began on the motion.
