The Miscellaneous Provisions (Heritage Petroleum, Paria Fuel Trading and Guaracara Refining Vesting) (Amendment) Bill, 2026, which was passed in the Senate on June 17, 2026, was read a first time in the name of the Minister of Labour, Small and Micro Enterprise Development. The next stage of the bill was taken later in the proceedings.

The Minister of Labour, Small and Micro Enterprise Development, Sen. the Hon. Leroy Baptiste, moved the second reading of the Miscellaneous Provisions (Heritage Petroleum, Paria Fuel Trading and Guaracara Refining Vesting) (Amendment) Bill, 2026. Debate began on the bill. Four members contributed to the debate before the wind up by the Minister of Labour, Small and Micro Enterprise Development. The bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. The bill was approved with amendments. With 26 votes for, no votes against and 13 abstentions, the bill was read a third time and passed.
The House brought greetings to the nation on the upcoming observance of Labour Day.
