1st Session - 13th Republican Parliament
The President of the Senate granted leave of absence to Sen. the Hon. Leroy Baptiste, who was out of the country. Mr. Ashworth Jack was appointed to temporarily replace Sen. Baptiste during his absence.

The Leader of Government Business sought leave of the Senate to restore the Retrenchment and Severance Benefits (Amendment) Bill, 2026 and the Victims Rights Bill, 2026 in the second session of the 13th Parliament. The Senate agreed.
The Leader of Government Business and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Sen. the Hon. Darrell Allahar moved the second reading of the Administration of Justice (Deoxyribonucleic Acid) (Amendment) Bill, 2026. Three Senators made contributions before the Minister rose to wind up the debate. The Bill was then referred into a Committee of the Whole Senate, where it was considered clause by clause and approved without amendment. It was then read a third time and passed by a margin of 23 for, seven against and no abstentions.
Before adjourning, Senators extended greetings to the national community on the occasions of Indian Arrival Day and Corpus Christi. The sitting ended at 5:14 p.m.
