Leave of absence was granted to Hon. Maxie Cuffie, MP for La Horquetta/Talparo from Sittings of the House during June 2018 and to Mr. Fazal Karim, MP for Chaguanas East from today’s Sitting.
The Speaker informed the House of the Senate’s concurrence with the House in the establishment of two Joint Select Committees.

The Member for Laventille West moved a motion that the House take note of the Report of the Special Select Committee established to consider and report on the process followed in relation to the Notifications pursuant to section 123 of the Constitution. Debate began on the Bill. The motion was approved.
The Attorney General wound up the debate on The Criminal Division and District Criminal and Traffic Courts Bill, 2018. The Bill was then committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration on a clause by clause basis. The Bill was read a third time and passed, without amendments.
The Prime Minister moved a motion to approve the Notification of the nomination of Ms. Susan Elizabeth Craig James as a member of the Police Service Commission. The motion was approved.
The Attorney General moved the second reading of The Payments into Court Bill, 2018. The Bill was committed to the Committee of the Whole for consideration on a clause by clause basis. The Payments into Court Bill, 2018 was read a third time and passed, without amendments.
The Member for Tobago East, Hon. Ayanna Webster-Roy, moved a motion to approve the Children’s Community Residences (Children’s Homes) Regulations, 2018. The motion was approved.

The Senate amendments to the Registration of Titles to Land (Amendment)(No.2) Bill, 2017 were considered and approved.
The Prime Minister wrapped up the debate on the motion to approve the Notification of the President of the nomination by the PSC of Mr. Deodat Dulalchan to the office of Commissioner of Police. The motion was defeated.
