Leave of absence was granted to Sen. the Hon. Jennifer Baptiste-Primus, who is out of the country. Mr. Ndale Young was appointed temporary Government Senator in her place.
The President of the Senate informed of correspondence received from Her Excellency, Paula Mae Weekes, declaring the seat of Mr. Gerald Ramdeen vacant with effect from May 6, 2019. Mr. Ashvani Mahabir was appointed Senator, with effect from May 15, 2019.
Opposition Senator Ashvani Mahabir and Temporary Government Senator Ndale Young took the oath of allegiance.
The Finance (Supplementary Appropriation) (Financial Year 2019) Bill, 2019 was brought from the House of Representatives. The Minister in the Ministry of Finance moved that the next Stage of the Bill be taken later in the proceedings. This was agreed upon.

Six questions qualified for oral answer. Questions #143 and #255 were deferred for two weeks.
The Minister in the Ministry of Finance moved the second reading of The Finance (Supplementary Appropriation) (Financial Year 2019) Bill, 2019. Debate began on the Bill. Following the debate, the Bill was read a third time and passed.
Sen. Wade Mark raised a matter on the adjournment namely the failure of the Government to proclaim Act No. 4 of 2012 which deals with the Convention on the prohibition of the development, production and stockpiling of toxic weapons. Sen. the Hon. Dennis Moses responded.
