Leave of absence was granted to Sen. the Hon. Avinash Singh and Sen. David Nakhid, who are out of the country and to Sen. Damian Lyder who is ill. Ms. Karmaria London, Dr. Tim Gopeesingh and Ms. Karunaa Bisramsingh were appointed temporary senators in their place.
Temporary senators London, Gopeesingh and Bisramsingh took the oath of allegiance.
The Bail (Amendment) Bill, 2024 will be brought from the House of Representatives in the name of the Attorney General, who moved that the next stage of the bill be taken on Thursday July 4, 2024. The motion was carried.

The Minister of National Security, Hon. Fitzgerald Hinds, MP, moved the second reading of The Miscellaneous Provisions (Testing and Identification) Bill, 2022. Debate began on the bill. Eleven senators contributed to the debate before the wind up by the Minister of National Security. The bill was then committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. It was approved without amendments. With 30 votes for, no votes against and no abstentions, the bill was read a third time and passed.
The Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, Sen. the Hon. Reginald Armour, S.C., moved the second reading of the Whistleblower Protection Bill, 2022. Debate began on the bill. Seven senators added their voice to the debate before the adjournment of the Senate.
