Ms. Khadijah Ameen was appointed an Opposition Senator on Wednesday September 23, 2015, at the start of the 11th Republican Parliament. Ms. Ameen previously served as the Chairman of the Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation.

Ms. Ameen was elected to the House of Representatives as the Member for St. Augustine in August of 2020.
