The Vice-President of the Senate, Sen. Kenya Charles, informed that the President of the Senate, Sen. the Hon. Wade Mark, is acting as President.
Leave of absence was granted to Sen. Michael de la Bastide, SC, who is out of the country.
Mr. Daniel Rasheed and Mr. Josh Drayton were appointed temporary senators in their place.
Temporary senators Rasheed and Drayton took the oath of allegiance.
The Administration of Justice (Indictable Proceedings) (Amendment) Bill, 2025 was brought from the House of Representatives in the name of the Attorney General.
The Appropriation (Financial Year 2026) Bill, 2025 was brought from the House of Representatives in the name of the Minister of Finance, who moved that the next stage of the bill be taken later in the proceedings. The motion was approved.

The Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Sen. the Hon. Kennedy Swaratsingh, moved the second reading of the Appropriation (Financial Year 2026) Bill, 2025. Debate began on the bill with Opposition Senator Vishnu Dhanpaul, being the first contributor, followed by Independent Senator Dr. Marlene Attzs. Fourteen other senators contributed to the debate before the wind up by the Minister in the Ministry of Finance. The bill was read a third time and passed.
