Leave of absence was granted to Hon. Pennelope Beckles, MP for Arima, from today’s Sitting of the House.
The Speaker of the House informed of correspondence received from the President of the Senate on the appointment of Senators to Joint Select Committees.

Prime Minister’s Question Time was a feature of the Sitting. Four questions were posed to the Prime Minister by Opposition Members.
Two urgent questions were posed.
Twenty-one questions qualified for oral answer. Two questions (#14 and #15) were withdrawn. Five questions were unanswered as the time for oral questions expired. These will be carried over to the next Sitting.
The Attorney General, Hon. Faris Al-Rawi, MP, moved the second reading of the Anti-Gang (Amendment) Bill, 2020. Debate began on the Bill. Following the debate, the Bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. No amendments were made. With 20 votes for, 0 votes against and 19 abstentions, the motion for the third reading of the Bill was not approved.
