Leave of absence was granted to Hon. Pennelope Beckles, MP for Arima, from Sittings of the House for the period November 6-22, 2022 and to Hon. Kamla Persad-Bissessar, S.C. MP for Siparia and Hon. Dr. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, MP for St. Ann’s East from today’s Sitting of the House.
The Deputy Speaker, Mr. Esmond Forde, MP, informed of correspondence received from the President of the Senate on the establishment of Joint Select Committees and the appointments of Senators to those Committees.

Prime Minister’s Question Time is a feature of today’s Sitting. Eight (of twelve) questions were posed to the Prime Minister by Opposition Members before the time for Prime Minister’s Questions expired.
Three urgent questions were posed and answered, before the time for urgent questions expired. See Order Paper.
Eighteen questions qualified for oral answer. See Order Paper for details. Question #15 was deferred for two weeks. Question #22 was withdrawn. Nine questions were posed and answered before the time for Questions on Notice expired.
The Firearms (Amendment) Bill, 2022 was introduced in the name of the Minister of National Security.
The Leader of the House, Hon. Camille Robinson-Regis, MP, moved motions that the House concur with the Senate on the establishment of the JSCs on the Fisheries Management (No. 2) Bill, 2020 and the Shipping Bill, 2020. Appointments were made to the Committees. The motions were approved.
The Attorney General, Sen. the Hon. Reginald Armour, moved the second reading of The Civil Aviation (Amendment) Bill, 2022. Four Members made contributions before the Attorney General rose to conclude the debate. The Bill was considered in Committee and approved without amendment. It was then read a third time and passed.
