Leave of absence was granted to Sen. Nigel De Freitas who is out of the country and to Sen. Khadijah Ameen who is ill. Mr. Ndale Young and Mr. Brian Baig were appointed temporary Senators in their place.

The Income Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2018 was brought from the House of Representatives in the name of the Attorney General.

Five urgent questions were posed. Questions have been appended to the Order Paper.
Nine questions qualified for oral answer.
The Attorney General moved the second reading of the Income Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2018. Debate began on the Bill. The Bill was referred to a Committee of the Whole and considered clause by clause. No amendments were made. The Bill was read a third time and passed.
Sen. Taharqa Obika raised a matter regarding the need for the Government to review the policy regarding the GATE programme and Sen. Wade Mark raised a matter regarding the lack of safety and security at the UWI Campus. Sen. the Hon. Clarence Rambharat responded to both matters.
