The Public Health (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill, 2026 was introduced in the name of the Minister of Planning, Economic Affairs and Development, who moved that the next stage of the bill be taken later in the proceedings. The motion was approved.
The Minister of Planning, Economic Affairs and Development, Sen. the Hon. Kennedy Swaratsingh, moved the second reading of the Public Health (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill, 2026. Debate then began on the bill. Seven members contributed to the debate before the wind up by the Minister of Planning, Economic Affairs and Development. The bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. The bill was approved with amendments. It was then read a third time and passed.
The Minister of Homeland Security, Hon. Roger Alexander, MP, made a statement on the state of emergency in Trinidad and Tobago, the results achieved and wider crime fighting measures being pursued by the Ministry of Homeland Security.
