The Vice-President of the Senate informed of correspondence received from the Speaker of the House on the establishment of Joint Select Committees.

Five reports were presented.
The Acting Leader of Government Business, Sen. the Hon. Clarence Rambharat, moved a motion that the Senate concur with the House in the establishment of seven Joint Select Committees and appoint six named Senators to each Committee. The motion was approved.
Sen. the Hon. Clarence Rambharat also moved a motion for the appointment of Senators on the Public Administration and Appropriation Committee and the JSC on Human Rights, Equality and Diversity.
Debate resumed on The Appropriation (Financial Year 2020) Bill, 2019. Following the debate, the Bill was read a third time and passed.
The Senate brought greetings to the Hindu community, and the nation, on the celebration of Divali. The Sitting concluded at 5:18 p.m. The Senate adjourned to a date to be fixed.
