The President granted leave of absence to Sen. the Hon. Dr. Lenny Saith. Sen. the Hon. Howard Chin Lee and Sen. Basharat Ali from the day’s sitting. Ms. Bonnie-Lou De Silva and Mrs. Magna Williams-Smith were appointed to temporarily replace Senators Saith and Chin Lee respectively.

The President and several members of the Senate paid tribute to the Clerk of the Senate Dawn Dolly, who passed away unexpectedly on September 28, 2004.

The Minister of Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs moved that the Senate be adjourned to a date to be fixed. The sitting ended at 2:50 p.m.
