The Speaker sought leave of the House to stand down the appointment of members to Sessional Select Committees of the House to later in the proceedings.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs made a statement detailing events during and arising out of the recently concluded CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting in Jamaica.
Four Bills were introduced, three in the name of the Attorney General and one in the name of the Minister of the People and Social Development. See the Second Supplemental Order Paper for details.
The Minister of National Security moved a Motion to consider the notification of His Excellency the President in respect of the nomination of five persons for appointment as members of the Police Service Commission. The Leader of the Opposition was the only member to enter the debate. The Minister of National Security then concluded. On the question that the nomination of Mr. Nizam Mohammed be approved there was a division of 24 for, 10 against, no abstentions. All of the five Motions were approved.
The Minister of the People and Social Development made a statement on the Government’s intention to reinstate the Old Age Pension.
The Speaker announced the members appointed to the four Sessional Select Committees of the House of Representatives.
At the next sitting, debate is expected to begin on three of the Bills introduced earlier in the proceedings, namely the Senior Citizen’s Grant (Amendment) Bill, 2010, the Anti-Gang Bill, 2010 and the Bail (Amendment) Bill, 2010. The sitting adjourned at 4:01 p.m.
