Leave of Absence

The President granted leave of absence to Sen. the Hon. Dr. Lenny Saith, Sen. Laurel Lezama and Sen. Gail Merhair (out of the country) and to Sen. Dr. Carson Charles (illness). Mr. Foster Cummings, Mrs. Nazima Ali-Khan and Dr. Rolph Balgobin were appointed to replace Sen. Saith, Sen. Merhair and Sen. Charles respectively.

Private Business: Motions
Private Motion: Government's Conduct in the Financial Affairs of the State

Senator Wade Mark moved a motion which asks the Senate to call on the Government to account for the manner in which it has conducted the financial affairs of the State. Several Senators made contributions on the Motion before debate was suspended.

The Senate adjourned to Tuesday December 2, 2008 at 1:30 p.m.

At its next sitting the House is expected to consider the Financial Institutions Bill, 2008, which was passed in the House of Representatives on November 14, 2008. The Senate adjourned at 4:49 p.m.
