Leave of absence granted to the Member for Tunapuna from August 27 to September 08, 2014.
The Deputy Speaker read into the correspondence from the Vice-President of the Senate. On Tuesday August 26, 2014 the Senate agreed to the establishment of a Joint Select Committee to consider and Legislative Proposal entitled, “Draft Houses of Parliament Service Authority Bill, 2014†and the following Senators were appointed:
1. Mr. Timothy Hamel-Smith
2. Mr. Anand Ramlogan, S.C.
3. Mr. Emmanuel George
4. Mrs. Camille Robinson-Regis
5. Mr. Elton Prescott, S.C.
The Senate also agreed to the establishment of a Joint Select Committee to propose a legislative framework to govern the financing of election campaigns and report within six months of its appointment. The following Senators were appointed:
1. Mr. Ganga Singh
2. Mr. Anand Ramlogan, S.C.
3. Dr. Bhoendradatt Tewarie
4. Mrs. Camille Robinson-Regis
5. Mrs. Helen Drayton

The Miscellaneous Provisions (Proceeds of Crime, Anti-Terrorism, Financial Intelligence Unit of Trinidad and Tobago)(No. 2) Bill, 2014, which was passed in the Senate on August 20, 2014, was read a first time in the House of Representatives in the name of the Minister of Finance and the Economy.
The Appropriation (Financial Year 2015) Bill, 2014 was introduced and read a first time in the name of the Minister of Finance and the Economy
The Minister of Finance and the Economy moved that the Appropriation (Financial Year 2015) Bill, 2014 be read a second time and proceeded with his budget presentation. At the conclusion of his budget presentation he advised in accordance with Standing Order 81 (4) that the debate on the Budget will resume on Friday September 12, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.
The Leader of the House moved that the House adjourn to Friday September 12, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. to continue debate on the Appropriation (Financial Year 2015) Bill, 2014. Question put and agreed.
