Leave of absence was granted to the Member for Trincity/Maloney, Mrs. Camille Robinson-Regis, MP, from Sittings of the House during the period June 18- 30, 2025.
Two papers were laid.
The Report of the Standing Finance Committee of the House of Representatives for the First Session was presented.
One question was posed to the Prime Minister, by the Member for Arima, and answered.
The Member for Barataria/San Juan, Hon. Saddam Hosein, MP, raised a matter of privilege pertaining to the Member for Diego Martin North East, Mr. Colm Imbert, MP, who allegedly deliberately misled the house on June 13, 2025 during the debate on the Trinidad and Tobago Revenue Authority (Repeal) Bill, 2025. The Speaker of the House reserved his ruling on this matter to a later time.
The Member for Arouca/Lopinot, Mr. Marvin Gonzales, MP, raised a matter of privilege pertaining to the Member for Toco/Sangre Grande, Hon. Wayne Sturge, MP, who allegedly inaccurately and repeatedly asserted that Sen. Faris Al-Rawi, SC, was renting AGRA Court to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, during the Standing Finance Committee Meeting on June 16, 2025. The Speaker of the House reserved his ruling on this matter to the next Sitting.
The Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Hon. Roodal Moonilal, MP, made a statement on the report conducted by the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries regarding the NiQuan Energy Trinidad Limited Explosion on June 15, 2023.
Opposition Member and Member for Diego Martin North/East, Mr. Colm Imbert, MP, offered a personal explanation regarding the case of Rohini Ramkissoon versus the Minister of Finance, address the misleading statements made on June 13, 2025. He apologized for his misstatement.
The Minister of Defence and Minister in the Ministry of Homeland Security, Hon. Wayne Sturge, MP, also offered a personal explanation, regarding his misstatement on the ownership of AGRA Court.
The Finance (Supplementary Appropriation) (Financial Year 2025) Bill, 2025 was introduced in the name of the Minister of Finance, who moved that the next stage of the Bill be taken later in the proceedings. The motion was approved.
The Prime Minister’s Pension (Amendment) Bill, 2025 was also be introduced in the name of the Minister of Finance.
The Minister of Finance, Hon. Davendranath Tancoo, MP, moved a motion to adopt the Report of the Standing Finance Committee. Debate began on the motion. Ten persons made contributions before debate was suspended.
Before adjourning, the House extended Labour Day and Corpus Christi greetings to the national community.
