Leave of absence was granted to Mr. Esmond Forde, MP for Tunapuna, Dr. Fuad Khan, MP for Barataria/San Juan and Mr. David Lee, MP for Pointe-a-Pierre from today’s Sitting.
The Speaker informed the House of the Senate’s concurrence in the establishment of Joint Select Committees to review the levels of Health Care Delivery in Regional Health Authorities in Trinidad and Tobago and the Vision 2030 document.
Five Papers were laid in the name of the Minister of Finance, Minister of Energy and Energy Industries and Minister of Housing and Urban Development. Paper 1 was referred to the Public Accounts (Enterprises) Committee and Paper 2 was referred to the JSC on Energy Affairs. See Order Paper for details.

The Leader of the House moved a motion that Hon. Stuart Young, MP, replace Hon. Ayanna Webster-Roy, MP, on the Joint Select Committee on Energy Affairs. The motion was approved.
The Attorney General moved the second reading of The Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic (Amendment) Bill, 2017. The Member for Tabaquite was first to enter the debate, followed by the Member for Princes Town, the Minister of Public Utilities and the Member for Oropouche West.
Before adjourning, Members extended greeting to the national community on the occasion of Corpus Christi and Labour Day. At the next sitting debate is expected to continue on the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic (Amendment) Bill, 2017. The sitting ended at 6:53 p.m.
