The Miscellaneous Provisions (Pensions) Bill, 2019 was introduced in the name of the Minister of Finance, who moved that the next stage of the Bill be taken later in the proceedings. The motion was approved.
Hon. Stuart Young, MP, moved the motion that the House adopt the report of the Committee of Privileges of the House of Representatives on the allegation of threatening words. The Motion was approved, including an amendment proposed by the Member for San Fernando East.
The Minister of Rural Development and Local Government moved the second reading of the Miscellaneous Provisions (Local Government Reform) Bill, 2019. Debate began on the Bill. The Bill was referred to a Joint Select Committee for consideration and report on the general principles and merits of the Bill by September 27, 2019.
The Minister of Finance moved the second reading of The Miscellaneous Provisions (Pensions) Bill, 2019. Dr. Bhoendradatt Tewarie, MP, was the sole contributor to this debate. The Bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. No amendments were made. With 18 votes for, 0 votes against and 9 abstentions, the Bill was read a third time and passed.
Mr. David Lee, MP, raised a matter on the adjournment on the distress, severe disturbances and unwarranted discomfort for persons in the area of the Brian Lara Cricket Academy due to fetes being held at the academy. Hon. Stuart Young, MP, responded.
