The Minister of Finance and the Economy moved the second reading of the Gambling (Gaming and Betting) Control Bill, 2015. The Minister of Transport was first to enter the debate, followed by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance and the Economy and the Member for Caroni Central. The Minister of Finance and the Economy then rose to wind up the debate. The House resolved into Committee stage to consider the Gambling (Gaming and Betting) Control Bill, 2015 clause by clause. A division was taken, 26 for, 0 against and 0 abstentions, the Gambling (Gaming and Betting) Control Bill, 2015 was approved and passed.
During the contribution of the Member for Couva South, The Prime Minister rose to make a statement in the House informing of a request from the Government of the United States for a provisional arrest warrant for Mr. Jack Warner.
The Minister of Legal Affairs moved a Motion asking the House to consider Senate amendments to the Trade Marks Bill, 2014. A division was taken , 26 for, 0 against and 0 abstentions. The Senate Amendments to the Trade Marks Bill, 2014 were therefore approved.
The Insurance Bill, 2015 was read a first time in the House. The Leader of the House moved that the next stage of the Bill be taken at a sitting of the House on Friday May 29, 2015.
At the next sitting, debate will begin on the Insurance Bill, 2015, continue on the Industrial Relations (Amendment)Bill, 2015, the Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2015, the Cybercrime Bill, 2015 and the Trinidad and Tobago Cyber Security Agency Bill, 2015.
