Consideration continued (from September 14, 2017)on the Indictable Offences (Pre-Trial Publicity) Bill, 2017. Temporary Opposition Senator Sharla Alexander-Dolabaille was first to contribute, followed by Sen. H.R. Ian Roach, Opposition Senator Sean Sobers and Independent Senator David Small. The Attorney General then stood to conclude the debate. Debate on the Bill was adjourned and a Motion moved that the bill be restored in the next Session.
Before adjourning, Senators extended greetings to the national community ahead of Republic Day, which is celebrated on September 24, 2017, the anniversary of the date on which the 1st Republican Parliament met for the first time in 1976. The sitting ended at 1:33 p.m.
