Leave of absence was granted to Hon. Ayanna Webster-Roy, MP for Tobago East and to Mr. Barry Padarath, MP for Princes Town, from today’s Sitting of the House.

Thirteen questions were to be posed to the Prime Minister by Members of the Opposition. In the absence of the Prime Minister, questions were deferred to the next Sitting.
Four urgent questions were posed.
Five questions qualified for oral answer. Question #231 was withdrawn. Question #230 was deferred for two weeks.
Sen. the Hon. Franklin Khan, Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, made a statement regarding the Government’s strengthening of the energy sector in Trinidad and Tobago, in particular, negotiations between the Government and Shell.
The Attorney General moved a motion that the House consider the Senate amendments to The Administration of Justice (Indictable Proceedings) (Amendment) (No.2) Bill, 2019. The amendments were approved.
The Attorney General moved the second reading of The Miscellaneous Provisions (Financial Institutions, Securities and Insurance) Bill, 2019. Debate began on the Bill. Following the wind up, the Bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. The Bill was read a third time and passed, with amendments.
