Requests For Leave To Move The Adjournment Of The House On Definite Matters Of Urgent Public Importance
Closure of Preysal Government Primary School

Dr. Bhoendradatt Tewarie, MP sought leave to move the adjournment of the House on a matter of urgent public importance namely the recent closure of the Preysal Government Primary School. The Speaker was not satisfied that this matter qualified under Standing Order 17.
Ms. Ramona Ramdial sought leave to address the matter namely the inability by the Government to resolve the tragic and abysmal failure of the sea bridge between Trinidad and Tobago.The Speaker was not satisfied that this matter qualified under Standing Order 17.

Private Business: Motions
Rising Crime Epidemic

Private Members’ Business took precedence at this Sitting. Debate began on a motion by the Member for Naparima on the rising crime epidemic. At 6:00 p.m., debate on the private motion was suspended.

Matter On The Adjournment
Two Matters

Mr. Ganga Singh raised as a matter on the adjournment the failure of the Government to protect the public’s interest in the acquisition by TSTT of Massy Communications for the sum of $255 Million. The Minister of Public Utilities responded.
Dr. Tim Gopeesingh raised a matter namely the failure of the Government to effectively manage the dispensation of quality medication via the CDAP Programme. The Minister of Health responded.
