Oath Of Allegiance Of A New Member
Temporary Senators

Mr. Wayne Inniss and Mr. Harvey Borris were appointed temporary Senators, replacing Sen. Baptiste-Primus and Sen. Simonette respectively. The temporary Senators took the oath of allegiance.

The Minister of Finance moved the second reading of The Miscellaneous Provisions (Tax Amnesty, Pensions, Freedom of Information, National Insurance, Central Bank and Non-Profit Organisations) Bill, 2019. Debate began on the Bill. Following the debate, the Bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. With 20 votes for, 6 votes against and 3 abstentions, the Bill was read a third time and passed, with amendments.

Matter On The Adjournment
Two Matters

Sen. Wade Mark raised a matter on the adjournment namely the need for an appropriate investigation for determining causes and holding persons to account for numerous cost overruns on recent capital projects under the THA. The Minister in the Ministry of Finance responded.
Sen. Mark raised a second matter regarding the need for the Government to commission an audit to determine whether the $37M being spent on Virgin Atlantic and British Airways for increasing tourism in Tobago is achieving its objective. The Minister in the Ministry of Finance responded.
