The seat of Mr. Ashvani Mahabir was declared vacant with effect from June 12, 2019. Mr. Sean Sobers was appointed Opposition Senator.
The temporary appointment of Ms. Shervon Ifill, in lieu of Sen. Dr. Maria Dillon-Remy, was revoked and Ms. Zola Phillips was appointed temporary Senator in her absence.

Newly appointed Opposition Senator Sobers and temporary Senator Phillips took the oath of allegiance.

The Attorney General concluded his wind up of the debate on The Bail (Amendment) Bill, 2019. The Bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration on a clause by clause basis and approved with amendments. The Bill was then read a third time and passed by a division of 24 for, six against, no abstentions.

The Attorney General moved the second reading of the Miscellaneous Provisions (Financial Institutions, Securities and Insurance) Bill, 2019. Following the debate on the Bill, it was committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. The Bill was read a third time and passed, without amendments.
