Leave of absence was granted to Sen. Daniel Dookie, Sen. Deoroop Teemal and Sen. Dr. Maria Dillon-Remy who are out of the country. Mr. Ndale Young, Mr. John Heath and Ms. Shervon Ifill were appointed temporary Senators in their absence.
Temporary Senators Young, Heath and Ifill took the oath of allegiance.
The Vice President informed of correspondence received from the Speaker of the House regarding the establishment of the Joint Select Committee on the Private Security Industry Bill, 2019.
Two bills were brought from the House of Representatives. The Leader of Government Business moved that the next stage of The Miscellaneous Provisions (Financial Institutions, Securities and Insurance) Bill, 2019 be taken on Wednesday June 12, 2019. The motion was approved.

There are seven Questions on Notice listed on the Order Paper. Questions #259, #261 and #273 were deferred for two weeks.
The Leader of the Government Bench moved a motion that the Senate concur with the House of Representatives in the establishment of a Joint Select Committee to consider the Private Security Industry Bill, 2019 and further moved the appointment of six Senators to this Committee. The motion was approved.
The Attorney General, Hon. Faris Al-Rawi, MP, moved the second reading of The Bail (Amendment) Bill, 2019. Debate began on the Bill. The Attorney General began the wind up of the Bill, which he will conclude at the next Sitting.
