Leave of absence was granted to Sen. the Hon. Dr. Kennedy Swaratsingh, who is out of the country. Mr. Daniel Rasheed was appointed a temporary senator in his place.
Temporary Senator Daniel Rasheed took the oath of allegiance.

Sen. Janelle John-Bates offered a personal explanation regarding her involvement in a matter of the Public Administration and Appropriations Committee. She informed that she has offered her resignation to the Leader of the Opposition.
Sen. the Hon. Leroy Baptiste moved a motion to adopt the Special Report of the Public Administration and Appropriations Committee, First Session, Thirteenth Parliament on the conduct of a Member. Debate began on the motion. Seven members contributed to the debate before the wind up. With 18 votes for, 7 votes against and 4 abstentions, the motion was approved.
Sen. David Nakhid raised a matter of privilege against Sen. John-Bates regarding her failure to disclose her involvement in the preparation of Memorandum of Evidence by the former Minister of Health.
He raised a second matter of privilege against Sen. Faris Al-Rawi, SC, for contempt and breach of privilege with regards to the special report of the Public Administration and Appropriations Committee.
The President reserved his ruling for later in the proceedings.

Sen. the Hon. Wade Mark ruled on the matters of privilege, raised by Sen. Nakhid, against Sen. John-Bates and Sen. Al-Rawi, SC. In both instances, he was satisfied that prima facie cases did exist and the matters were referred to the Committee of Privileges for investigation and report.
