The Finance Bill, 2021

The Minister of Finance, Hon. Colm Imbert, MP, moved the second reading of The Finance Bill, 2021. Fifteen Senators contributed to the debate before the Minister of Finance wound up the debate. The bill was then committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. The report of the Committee was approved with amendments. The bill was read a third time and passed.

Matter On The Adjournment
Two Matters

Sen. Wade Mark raised a matter on the adjournment regarding the need for the Government to request immediate external support to assist in reducing the number of COVID-19 positive cases and related deaths. The Leader of Government Business, Sen. the Hon. Clarence Rambharat, responded.
Sen. Mark raised another matter on the adjournment on the need for the Government to explain the after-tax loss of $2.1 billion dollars at National Gas Company (NGC) for the financial year 2020. The Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Hon. Stuart Young, MP, responded.
