Leave of absence was granted to Dr. Lackram Bodoe, MP for Fyzabad, from Sittings of the House for the period May 17-28,2019 and to Mr. Barry Padarath, MP for Princes Town, Mr. Prakash Ramadhar, MP for St. Augustine, and Hon. Stuart Young, MP for Port of Spain North / St. Ann’s West from today’s Sitting of the House.

Seven urgent questions were posed.
Eight questions qualified for oral answer. Questions #208 and #209 was deferred for two weeks.
The Minister of Social Development and Family Services, Hon. Cherrie-Ann Crichlow-Cockburn, made a statement on the Revised National Policy on Persons with Disabilities and Action Plan.
The Miscellaneous Provisions (Petroleum, Petroleum Production Levy and Subsidy and Income Tax) Bill, 2019 will be introduced in the name of the Minister of Finance.
The Prime Minister moved a Motion asking the House to approve the notification of the nomination of Mr. Roger Mark Kawalsingh as a member of the Police Service Commission. Following a contribution by Mr. Rodney Charles, MP, the Prime Minister then concluded. The motion was passed with a division of 21 for, none against, 11 abstentions.
The Attorney General moved the second reading of the Administration of Justice (Indictable Proceedings)(Amendment)(No.2) Bill, 2019. Following the debate, the Bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration on a clause by clause basis. No amendments were made. The Bill was read a third time and passed.
