Leave of Absence was granted to Mr. Fazal Karim, MP for Chaguanas East, from today’s Sitting.
The Speaker informed the House of the Senate’s appointees to the Joint Select Committee on the Cybercrime Bill, 2017.
Eleven papers were laid in the name of the Minister of Finance. Paper 1 was referred to the Public Accounts (Enterprises) Committee and Papers 2-10 were referred to the Public Accounts Committee. See Order Paper for details.

The Minister of Finance introduced the Finance (Variation of Appropriation) (Financial Year 2017) Bill, 2017 and moved that the next stage of the Bill be taken later in the proceedings. This was agreed upon.
The Minister of Finance moved the motion to adopt the second Report of the Standing Finance Committee and further moved that the Finance (Variation of Appropriation) (Financial Year 2017) Bill, 2017 be debated simultaneously. This was not agreed upon.
Leave was also sought to suspend Standing Order 45(1) in relation to speaking time on the motion, allowing for the mover of the motion and the first responder (Opposition) to make contributions not exceeding 90 minutes in both cases. This was carried.
