The Attorney General concluded his wind up of the debate on The Administration of Justice (Indictable Proceedings) (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill, 2019. The Bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. The Bill was read a third time and passed, with amendments.
Sen. the Hon. Clarence Rambharat moved a motion that the House consider the report of the Special Select Committee established to consider and report on the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Bill, 2019. Debate began on the motion. Following the wind up, the Senate considered clauses 10 & 11 of the Bill in the Committee of the Whole.
The Bill was read a third time and passed, with amendments.
Sen. Wade Mark raised a matter on the adjournment regarding teenage pregnancy in the country. Hon. Faris Al-Rawi, MP responded.
Sen. Mark raised a second matter regarding the need for the THA to account to the public for unspent balances in the accounts of the special purpose companies under its purview as well as the perceived misuse of contingency funds by the THA. Sen. the Hon. Allyson West responded.
