Leave of Absence was granted to Mr. Rushton Paray, MP for Mayaro from today’s Sitting.
Two papers were laid in the name of the Minister of Finance. Both papers were referred to the Public Accounts Committee. See Order Paper for details.

Eight urgent questions were posed. Seven questions were posed before time expired for urgent questions. See Order Paper for details.
Five questions qualified for oral answer. Questions #107 and #114 were deferred for two weeks. See Order Paper for details.
The Leader of the Opposition made a request for leave to move the adjournment of the House on a definite matter namely the failure of the Government to provide a proper water supply to citizens. The Deputy Speaker was satisfied that this matter qualified for debate at 6:00 p.m.
The Attorney General, authorized by the Cabinet, made a statement on the Cybercrime Bill, 2017.
The Cybercrime Bill, 2017 was introduced in the name of the Attorney General. The Attorney General then moved that the Bill be referred to a Joint Select Committee to be established for its consideration and report. This was approved.
The Leader of the House moved a motion that the Joint Select Committee – the Insurance Bill, 2017 be allowed an extension of four weeks to complete its work and submit a final report by June 2, 2017. This motion was approved.
The Leader of the House moved a motion to appoint six (6) members of the House (and similar number in the Senate) to the JSC – The Cybercrime Bill, 2017. The motion, with appointments, was carried.
The House resolved to Standing Finance Committee to continue consideration of proposals of Variation of Appropriations for the fiscal year 2017. Standing Finance Committee meeting was suspended to facilitate a definite matter.
Having been approved for debate earlier in the Sitting, the Leader of the Opposition raised a definite matter on the lack of proper water supply throughout the nation for debate.
The House again resolved to Standing Finance Committee to continue the consideration of proposals for the variation of the Appropriation for the fiscal year 2017. All variations were approved. Following the completion of the matter at hand, the House resumed.
The Committee Stage of The Criminal Procedure (Plea Discussion and Plea Agreement) Bill, 2017 was resumed. The Bill was amended in the Committee Stage, before passage in the House at 12:28 a.m. on Saturday May 6, 2017.
The House debated a motion to approve the Salaries and Allowances contained in the Report on the Determination of Salaries and Allowances of Members of the Board of the Office of Procurement Regulation. The motion was approved.
