Leave of absence was granted to Ms. Marlene McDonald, MP for Port of Spain South, from today’s Sitting of the House.
The Speaker shared correspondence received from the President of the Senate informing of a change in membership to the JSC on the Representation of the Peoples (Amendment) Bill, 2020.
The Miscellaneous Provisions (Registrar General, Registration of Deeds, Conveyancing and Law of Property, Real Property, Stamp Duty and Registration of Title to Land) Bill, 2020 will be brought from the Senate in the name of the Attorney General. The Attorney General moved that the next stage of the Bill be taken on Wednesday June 17, 2020. This was approved.

The Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Keith Rowley, MP, made a statement on the Fisheries Management Bill, 2020.
The Finance (Supplementary Appropriation) (Financial Year 2020) Bill, 2020 was introduced in the name of the Minister of Finance. The Minister of Finance moved that the next stage of the Bill be taken later
in the proceedings. The motion was approved.
The Fisheries Management Bill, 2020 was introduced in the name of the Minister of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries. The Leader of the House moved a motion that the Bill be referred to a Joint Select Committee established to consider and report on the Bill by August 31, 2020. This motion was approved.
The Leader of the House moved a motion that for today’s debate, the speaking time be adjusted as follows: the Minister of Finance and the first responder be allowed 1 hour and all other members be allowed 30 minutes with no extensions. The motion was approved.
The Minister of Finance, Hon. Colm Imbert, MP, moved a motion to adopt the Second Report of the Standing Finance Committee of the House of Representatives for the Fifth Session (2019/2020), Eleventh Parliament on the consideration of proposals for the Supplementation of Appropriation for the fiscal year 2020. Debate began on the motion. The motion was approved.
The Minister of Finance moved the second reading of the Finance (Supplementary Appropriation) (Financial Year 2020) Bill, 2020. No debate took place on the Bill. The Bill was read a third time and passed.
