Leave of absence was granted to Dr. Lackram Bodoe, MP for Fyzabad and Hon. Marlene McDonald, MP for Port of Spain South from today’s sitting. Leave of absence was also granted to Mrs. Christine Newallo-Hosein, MP from Sittings during the period July 4 – July 8, 2016.
The House paid tribute to former Prime Minister, Patrick Manning, who passed away on Saturday July 2, 2016. A minute of silence was observed.

Two papers will be laid in the name of the Minister of Finance. It is expected that Paper #1 will be referred to the Public Accounts Committee and Paper #2 will be referred to the Public Accounts (Enterprises) Committee. See Order Paper for details.
Prime Minister Question Time is a feature of today’s Sitting as this is the second Sitting of the House in the month of July. Questions posed by the Opposition was answered by Hon. Colm Imbert, MP – Acting Prime Minister.

Three questions qualified for oral answer. Answers to these questions were deferred for one week and will be submitted in writing. See Order Paper for details.
The Minister of Finance moved the second reading of the Finance (No.2) Bill, 2016. Dr. Bhoendradatt Tewarie is first to enter the debate. The Bill was taken to the Committee of the Whole to be considered clause by clause and amended.
Prior to the adjournment, the Government and Opposition benches of the House of Representatives brought greetings to the Muslim community in observance of Eid-Ul-Fitr on July 6. The Sitting concluded at 8:57 p.m. The House adjourned to a date to be fixed.
