The Vice-President announced that the President of the Senate, Sen. the Hon. Raziah Ahmed, and Sen. H.R. Ian Roach, were out of the country. Ms. Keitha Smith and Dr. Kriyaan Singh were appointed to temporarily replace Senators Ahmed and Roach respectively during their absence.

The Minister of Transport concluded his wind up on the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Bill, 2014. The Senate then resolved into a Committee of the Whole Senate to consider the Bill clause by clause.

At the next sitting, Private Business will take precedence. The Senate is also expected to consider the Report of the Joint Select Committee on the Insurance Bill, 2015. The sitting ended at 8:38 p.m.
