Leave of absence was granted to Mrs. Glenda Jennings-Smith, MP for Toco / Sangre Grande and Mrs. Marlene McDonald, MP for Port of Spain South, from today’s Sitting of the House.

Three urgent questions were posed and answered.
The Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Keith Rowley, MP moved a motion to approve the nomination of Mr. Courtney Mc Nish as a member of the PSC. Mr. Rudranath Indarsingh, MP, was the sole contributor to the debate on the motion. The motion was approved.
Debate began on The Copyright (Amendment) Bill, 2019. Following the debate, the Bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. No amendments were made. With 33 votes for, no votes against and no abstentions, the Bill was read a third time and passed.
The Attorney General, Hon. Faris Al-Rawi, MP, moved the second reading of The Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic (Amendment) Bill, 2019. Debate began on the Bill. Following the debate, the Bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. No amendments were made. The Bill was read a third time and passed.
Ms. Ramona Ramdial, MP, raised a matter regarding the reckless spending of the Government on failed and irrelevant tourism projects in Tobago. The Minister of Tourism, Hon. Randall Mitchell, MP, responded.
