Leave of absence was granted to Sen. the Hon. Paula Gopee-Scoon, who is out of the country and to Sen. Sophia Chote, S.C. who is ill. Mr. Ndale Young and Ms. Folade Mutota were appointed temporary Senators in their absence.
Temporary Senators Ndale Young and Folade Mutota took the oath of allegiance.
The President of the Senate informed of the appointment of Mr. Saddam Hosein to the Statutory Instruments Committee, in lieu of Gerald Ramdeen.
The Administration of Justice (Indictable Proceedings) (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill, 2019 was brought from the House of Representatives in the name of the Attorney General.

The Firearms (Amendment) Bill, 2019 was introduced in the name of the Attorney General.
The Leader of Government Business moved a motion that the House agreed with change of membership re Joint Select Committees.
Debate continued on the Licensing Committee (Validation) Bill, 2018. Following the debate, the Bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole Senate and considered clause by clause. With 27 votes for, 0 votes against and 0 abstentions, the Bill was read a third time and passed, with amendments.
Sen. Wade Mark raised a matter on the adjournment regarding the Government’s reasons for authorizing UDECOTT to borrow $180M from NCB Global Finance. The Minister in the Ministry of Finance responded.
