The Minister of Local Government (Sen. the Hon. Hazel Manning) moved the Second Reading of the Municipal Corporations (Amendment) Bill, 2008. The Member for Princes Town North then entered the debate. Following his contribution, the House dealt with a matter under Personal Explanations.

The Minister of Labour, Small and Micro-Enterprise Development (Hon. Rennie Dumas, MP) made a Personal Explanation with respect to a statement made during his contribution to the Private Motion on Food Prices on 27 June 2008.

Debate then resumed on the Municipal Corporations (Amendment) Bill, 2008. In all some seven Members spoke before the Minister concluded the debate. The Bill was considered in Committee and passed without amendments.

Debate continued (from Friday July 4, 2008) on the Treasury Bonds Bill, 2008.The Member for Siparia was the only Member who spoke on the Bill before the Minister concluded the Debate. The Bill was considered in Committee and passed without amendments.
