Sen. Saddam Hosein sought leave to move the adjournment of the House on a definite matter of urgent public importance namely the action of the Government to breach the Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance. The President of the Senate was not satisfied that this matter qualified under this Standing Order.
The Attorney General, Hon. Faris Al-Rawi, MP, moved the second reading of The Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic (Amendment) Bill 2019. Debate began on the Bill. Following the debate, the Bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. Amendments were made and approved. The Bill was read a third time and passed.
Sen. Wade Mark raised a matter regarding a recently signed loan agreement between WASA and Republic Bank Limited for a sum of USD 100M. The Minister of Public Utilities, Sen. the Hon. Robert Le Hunte, responded.
