Leave of absence was granted to Sen. Sophia Chote, S.C. Mr. John Heath was appointed temporary Senator in her place.
The appointment of Mr. Ronald Duke, temporary Independent Senator, was revoked and Pastor Clive Dottin was appointed temporary Senator in place of Sen. Jennifer Raffoul.
Temporary Senators John Heath and Pastor Clive Dottin took the oath of allegiance.
Four urgent questions were posed.
Four questions qualified for oral answer. Questions #131, #132 and #133 were deferred for two weeks.
Sen. Anita Haynes made a request for leave to move the adjournment of the House on a definite matter of urgent public importance namely the crime epidemic currently gripping Trinidad and Tobago. The President of the Senate was not satisfied that this matter qualified under this Standing Order.
Sen. Wade Mark moved a Private Motion calling on the Government to introduce legislation that would make Elections and Boundaries Commission accountable to citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. Debate began on the motion.
