The Vice-President announced the absence of the President of the Senate who is out of the country and granted leave of absence to Sen. H.R. Ian Roach who is ill. Mr. Ndale Young and Mr. Nikoli Edwards were appointed to replace said Senators in their absence.
Temporary Senators, Mr. Ndale Young and Mr. Nikoli Edwards, took their oaths of allegiance.

Five urgent questions were posed. However, only four questions were answered before the time for urgent questions expired. See Order Paper for details.
The Committee Stage of The Miscellaneous Provisions (Trial By Judge Alone) Bill, 2017 resumed. The Bill was withdrawn from the Committee of the Whole and was referred to a Special Select Committee of the Senate, appointed to consider and report on the Bill by June 20, 2017.
The Leader of Government Business moved a Motion to establish a Joint Select Committee to review levels of Health Care Delivery. Senator Khadijah Ameen was first to enter the debate followed by Sen. Melissa Ramkissoon, Sen. the Hon. Jennifer Baptiste-Primus, Sen. Wade Mark and Sen. Dhanayshar Mahabir. Following the wind up by Sen. the Hon. Franklin Khan, the Senate approved the motion.
Moved by Sen. the Hon. Franklin Khan, debate began on the Government Motion: Establish a Joint Select Committee on Vision 2030. Sen. Wade Mark was first to enter the debate, followed by Sen. Taurel Shrikissoon, Sen. Wayne Sturge, Sen. David Small, Sen. Rodger Samuel, Sen. Dr. Dhanayshar Mahabir, Sen. Dr. Lester Henry, Sen. Khadijah Ameen and Temporary Senator Nikoli Edwards. The motion was approved.
Hon. Faris Al-Rawi, MP, Attorney General moved the second reading of The Criminal Procedure (Plea Discussion and Plea Agreement) Bill, 2017. Debate began on the Bill. Temporary Senator Sean Sobers was first to enter the debate. Debate resumes at the next Sitting.
