The Minister of Justice moved the second reading of the Legal Aid and Advice (Amendment) Bill, 2011. The Member for Diego Martin North/East rose to initiate the debate with his contribution followed by contributions by the Members for St. Augustine, Port-of-Spain North/St. Ann’s West and Port-of-Spain South. The debate on this bill was then adjourned.
The Minister of Health moved the second reading of the Regional Health Authorities (Amendment) Bill, 2011. The Leader of the Opposition rose to initiate the debate followed by a contribution by the Member for Caroni East. The debate was then suspended.
The House adjourned to Wednesday April 4, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. when the Government intends to continue debate on the Regional Health Authorities (Amendment) Bill, 2011 and if time permits begin debate on the Equal Opportunity (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill, 2011.
Before adjourning, the Members of the House paid tribute to the Spiritual Baptist community on the occasion of Spiritual Baptist Shouter Liberation Day. The sitting adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
