Leave of absence was granted to Mr. Ravi Ratiram, MP for Couva North, Mr. Saddam Hosein, MP for Barataria / San Juan and Ms. Michelle Benjamin, MP for Moruga / Tableland from today’s Sitting of the House.

The Sexual Offences (Amendment) Bill, 2021 was brought from the Senate in the name of the Attorney General.
The Gambling (Gaming and Betting) Control Bill, 2021 was also brought in the name of the Minister of Finance, who moved that the next stage of the bill be taken later in the proceedings. The motion was approved.

The Minister of Finance, Hon. Colm Imbert, MP, moved the second reading of The Gambling (Gaming and Betting) Control Bill, 2021. After contributions by 5 members, Hon. Colm Imbert, MP, wound up the debate. The bill was then committed to the Committee of the Whole for consideration clause by clause. No amendments were made. With 21 votes for, 0 votes against and 15 abstentions, the bill was read a third time and passed.
